of Fancy Black Ice This little jenny was suppose to arrive in July.
I had left Beauty in with Hawk after breeding and saw no signs of a heat. When July came
and went without any signs of impending foaling I figured she must have slipped the foal
and been rebred. We were watching very carefully not knowing exactly when Beauty was due.
Ice arrived on Tuesday December 13th in the afternoon of an unseasonably cold day. The temperature
got down to -6 the night she was born. We made our best attempt at drying her and keeping
her warm, but she still looked pretty cold. Two heat lamps, a Kalglo heater, and a hair
dryer later we finally got her dry and comfortable. Black Ice seemed like the appropriate
name under the circumstances!
She is just gorgeous, stocky and compact! All black with
a few white hairs on her head. This was a wonderful gift since Hawk is sold and left our
farm a few hours before Ice was born. SOLD! |
